ISO 14064-1 training teaches you how to calculate your organization's greenhouse gas (carbon) inventory, how to handle Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, reporting and preparation for verification. It is a core competence for the carbon footprint, for sustainability and for CBAM. A certificate of attendance is issued to participants.
ISO 14064-1 training teaches how greenhouse gas emissions are identified, calculated and reported at organization level. The training covers the basic concepts of climate change and greenhouse gases, the structure of the ISO 14064-1 standard and its relationship with the GHG Protocol, setting organizational and operational boundaries, classification of emission sources (Scope 1: direct; Scope 2: purchased energy; Scope 3: other indirect emissions), collection of activity data and calculation with emission factors, quantification of the inventory, uncertainty and quality management, preparation of the greenhouse gas report and preparation for independent verification (ISO 14064-3). The training is reinforced in a practical way with calculation examples and templates.
The training is suitable for sustainability and environment teams, energy managers, quality and reporting officers and the relevant employees of organizations that want to calculate and report their carbon footprint; it has no prerequisite. A certificate of attendance or achievement is issued at the end of the training. One important distinction: independent verification of the carbon footprint report (the declaration or certificate) is carried out by an accredited verification body; the training builds competence in calculation and readiness for verification but does not provide the verification itself. Sistem Patent Kalite delivers the training and can provide consulting during carbon footprint calculation and verification (see our related carbon page).
Note: Training is delivered by Sistem Patent Kalite (Academy); participants receive a certificate of attendance or achievement. Training alone does not grant the related ISO certificate; certification is issued after the audit of an accredited certification body, and the training prepares you for that process. Internationally recognized qualifications such as Lead Auditor depend on the course being accredited or approved (for example by Exemplar Global or IRCA). Duration and scope are set according to your needs ().
Scope 1 covers direct emissions (for example your own boilers and vehicles), Scope 2 the indirect emissions of purchased energy (electricity and heat), and Scope 3 the other indirect emissions in the value chain (procurement, transport, waste and so on). The training teaches how to calculate all three scopes.
No. The training builds competence in calculating and reporting the carbon inventory; however, independent verification of the report (the declaration or certificate) is carried out by an accredited verification body. The training prepares the organization for verification.
Competence in carbon footprint and emission calculation is a basic foundation for meeting the obligations of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). ISO 14064-1 training provides strong preparation for CBAM and sustainability work.
Yes, a certificate of attendance or achievement is issued to participants. This is not a corporate carbon verification declaration; verification is carried out by an accredited verification body.
We will design the course around your team; you can also assign courses through the corporate training software (LMS) and track completion and certificates of attendance from a single platform.
