RoHS Consultancy Services
Sistem Patent Kalite provides RoHS consultancy that covers electrical and electronic products and related goods that come into contact with the environment or contain chemical substances, restricting the presence of a defined list of substances. RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. The restricted substances include cadmium, lead, mercury and brominated compounds, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers.
Taking up RoHS consultancy and pursuing RoHS certification requires the evaluation of the product or goods to determine whether those restricted substances are present. The strongest commercial advantage of the certification is the free movement of products that do not contain the restricted substances across global markets and across national and international trading zones.
For organisations that place their product's commercial success at the top of the list, this certification delivers an important advantage over competitors. Manufacturers with complete documentation are well positioned on marketing and see the positive effect on their brand value.
RoHS was first published on 1 July 2006, and was revised on 21 July 2011, at which point the new directive came into force. The scope covers every kind of small and large household electrical appliance; computers, mobile phones, and other electronic devices with electronic components; televisions, digital equipment, cameras, electrical work tools, electrical hand tools, ATMs, treadmills, and every other electrical product. Products that do not contain the restricted substances go through the required testing, and the RoHS certificate is issued on the basis of the results.
Every RoHS application starts with a detailed technical file for the products concerned. Our experienced team reviews the technical file carefully and closes any gaps before submission. Once the file is complete, samples are dispatched for testing at internationally recognised accredited laboratories. The certification process is closed out based on the test results.
