What the TSE Certificate of Conformity to Turkish Standards covers
The TSE Certificate of Conformity to Turkish Standards is a one-year document issued to firms that have earned manufacturing-competence approval in categories already covered by a Turkish standard. It confirms that the firm's products conform to the applicable Turkish standard, grants use of the TSE mark under a signed agreement, and records the brand, class, kind, type, and model of every product on which the mark will appear.
The TSE Certificate of Conformity to Turkish Standards, or TSE mark, marks the product or its packaging as produced and released to market in line with the relevant Turkish standard. Use of the mark is subject to the signed agreement. Under Decree Law No. 556 on the protection of trademarks, the TSE mark is registered in five distinct forms as monograms.
Applications for the TSE certificate are reviewed by our organisation, and if the file is suitable, an audit team is appointed for the site visit. The team assesses the manufacturing site on equipment, facilities, personnel, and quality-system criteria. If the review confirms that the site is adequate, samples are taken. The samples are tested and inspected against the applicable Turkish standard. The site-audit outcome, the test reports, and the inspection results are then reviewed and decided by our committee.
If the decision is to grant the right to use the TSE mark, the firm and our organisation sign a TSE Mark Use agreement in the presence of a notary. The firm is issued the Manufacturing Competence Certificate confirming the adequacy of the production site and the Certificate of Conformity to Turkish Standards confirming product conformity. Fixed certificate, review, inspection, and testing fees are applied for the review, drawn from the advance received at application. TSE certificate holders report the previous year's gross sales of TSE-marked product to the Institute every January. An invoice based on the TSE Mark Use fee schedule (reviewed annually) is then paid to our organisation.
