How TSE certification is obtained
The TSE certification file starts with a manufacturing-site audit to verify that quality control capability exists on the line and that a system keeps the controls running over time. The site audit is followed by the testing and inspection required under the applicable Turkish standard. If both the audit and the test results come back in order, the certificate of conformity to Turkish Standards is issued with a validity period of 1 year.
In practice, the review first confirms that the product falls within a TSE standard that has been published for its category and that the manufacturing site meets the relevant site requirements. The quality control system is then examined to confirm that product consistency is maintained over time. Raw materials must themselves meet a defined quality level, and the flow from raw-material intake through finished-product release must stay inside the standard for every run. Part of the production workforce needs targeted training before the audit, and the quality controls required by the standard are then performed on record. These controls, together with the quality management system records, are kept in a form that supports retrospective review. The tests and inspections required by the standard are carried out on a continuing basis, and some of these tests can run in accredited laboratories. If both the tests and the site review close without issues, the TSE certificate is issued for a 12-month term.
