SA 8000 International Social Responsibility Management Standard
Sections of the SA 8000 standard
The SA 8000 standard is made up of four sections.
- Section one covers the scope and purpose of the standard.
- Section two covers the local laws the firm has to comply with in addition to the standard to be eligible for the certificate, along with the core conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and relevant articles of the United Nations Charter.
- Section three defines the standard's key terms, including firm, supplier, child labour, and forced labour.
- Section four sets out the general requirements the firm has to meet when implementing the management network and obtaining the certificate.
