GMP+ Feed Safety Standards
GMP+ Feed Safety standards
GMP+ stands for Good Manufacturing Practices. First designed and issued as a standard in 1992, it has grown into a full certification system through the later addition of ISO quality-management and HACCP requirements.
GMP+ is built on the Deming cycle of plan, do, check, and act. Every action taken under the scheme must have written backing. The standard defines feed-safety conditions across production, storage, transport, personnel, and the feed-production site. At present more than 13,000 certified organisations in 70 countries hold a GMP+ certificate, making it the most widely adopted certification in the feed-safety space.
GMP+ FSA
In 2013, GMP+ published the Feed Safety Assurance (FSA) module and the Feed Responsibility Assurance (FRA) module. Together, the two modules allow firms in the feed-safety chain to run a well-structured organisation for quality and safe feed. Firms in this chain have seen their market share and quality level rise.
