CCC Logo Marking
Products have to be marked with the CCC logo before they can be shipped to China under Chinese rules. The specific requirements are set by CNCA (the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China). Under the regulation, specific marking requirements apply to specific product groups. Manufacturers can choose their marking method. The certification authority provides detailed guidance on recommended marking approaches during the certification process.
CCC Marking Requirements
If marking is carried out by injection moulding or laser engraving, the CCC logo and factory code (factory identification code: one letter plus six digits) should be on the product itself. For products marked with the CCC logo, the manufacturer's name or brand and the model name should also be included.
CCC Logo Marking Methods
- Injection moulding
- Laser
- Engraving
- Press
- Unique labels
Methods other than those listed above can be used for marking. CCC marking is required only for products to be exported to China. The CCC logo printing licence and the model names listed have to be consistent with the product marking. Chinese customs has open access to the CNCA database containing the full list of printing licences. If a product's CCC marking licence has expired, it can be held at customs. From 1 January 2015, the validity period of the printing licence is no longer limited to 12 months. Manufacturers have to renew their CCC certificate licences before they expire, or the product loses its validity for entry to the Chinese market.
