The barcode registration process works as follows. Once the required documents are filed and the fee is paid, the international code number is assigned to the applicant within about one month.

• The right to use the number is granted on an annual basis. To keep the number valid, the annual fee must be paid each year.
• If your company needs additional numbers later, a new application has to be filed. To avoid losing the right to the number, pay the annual fee before the anniversary of your original application.
