What is the CB Certificate?

The CB certificate is a programme built for manufacturers worldwide to run a single test and certification cycle. The CB test certificate is issued for each product individually, following the IEC system (IECEE-CB Certification Scheme) for certification and conformity testing of electronic and electrical equipment, and carries the product's trade mark, type, class, category, and model.

The CB scheme is an international mutual recognition programme for test reports of electronic and electrical equipment components. Test reports and certificates produced in one participating country and by one participating test house are recognised in all other participating countries. The CB certificate issued by a national certification body allows manufacturers to obtain certification in other countries without repeating tests.

The CB certificate represents a shared agreement that participating countries and authorised certification bodies, including Sistem Patent Kalite, can confirm. CB certification covers electrical and electronic products. The scheme aims to remove trade barriers and raise global alignment. A product with CB certification is accepted by laboratories and certification bodies around the world as meeting international safety certification requirements.

The scheme's core purpose is to make trade between participating countries simpler and to raise international alignment of standards. Any product with CB certification can draw on international certification services in any participating country. This model brings time and cost advantages over running separate certification in each participating country. The CB certificate is valid when paired with the related test report.
