GLOBALG.A.P. GRASP Social Practice Assessment
What is GLOBALG.A.P. GRASP?
GLOBALG.A.P. standards were originally developed around agriculture and livestock production. Both sectors rely directly on people, and GRASP is the people-focused add-on developed alongside the main standard.
GRASP stands for GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice. It is a standard focused on occupational health, safety, and welfare for the workers on the farm.
A GRASP assessment can be run together with the main GLOBALG.A.P. audit. The authorised certification body carries out and reports the social-conformity assessment, and it is repeated annually. GRASP is one of the few schemes that monitors and protects the worker, one of the most important parts of on-farm management, within the GLOBALG.A.P. framework.
