What is GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture?

GLOBALG.A.P. standards cover agricultural livestock, plants, and aquaculture. The GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture standard is built around food safety, animal welfare, worker health, environment, and ecosystem care.

The Aquaculture module covers the integrated aquatic-production framework developed specifically for human consumption. The standard was built to manage aquaculture production and create a value chain among professional partners. Integrated Aquaculture Assurance was last updated in 2011, consolidating under a single general module.

GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture covers all stages from eggs and broodstock through to finished fish. The latest version brings processing facilities owned by the same producer into scope.

The standard also covers GFSI-benchmarked supply chains, which means it can interface with other food-safety standards such as BRC and IFS.
