What Are the SFI Groups?

The SFI groups are organised into 4 classes. The groups recognised by Sistem Patent Kalite are set out below.

Depending on the objective and the technology used to process the raw timber, forest-products industries can take on significantly different forms. In general terms, they can be grouped into four main categories.

Primary Manufacturing Industry (Main Group)

This class covers the industries that use wood directly as a raw material.

Secondary Manufacturing Industry (Main Group)

This class covers the industries that process the output of the primary manufacturing industry to produce parquet, joinery, furniture, wood construction elements, prefabricated building components, and similar products.

Other Forest-Products Industry (Main Group)

This class covers specialised products such as pencils, toys, matches, gunstocks, coachwork, musical instruments, hand-tool parts, shoe heels, and an extensive range of further items.

Secondary Forest Products Industry

This class covers the industries that analyse and process tree bark, leaves, fruit, resin, seeds, and related outputs of the forest.
