Net Zero Carbon: Links to Other Standards and Revisions
The principles of the Net Zero Carbon programme are built on international and national standards. For measuring greenhouse gas emissions, the Net Zero Carbon principles are aligned with national regulations, the GHG Protocol, and ISO 14064 for organisations and facilities, and with PAS 2050 for products and services. At this stage, there is no published Turkish standard that covers how organisations should measure, reduce, manage, and communicate their carbon neutrality. Net Zero Carbon is the first initiative of its kind in this area.
Net Zero Carbon Ethics Board
The Net Zero Carbon ethics board is the independent body responsible for verifying conformity with the defined principles. Certificates issued under the Net Zero Carbon programme are also subject to the ethics board's approval on a sampling basis. Members of the ethics board are appointed every two years from 2013 onwards.
Net Zero Carbon Advisory Board
The Net Zero Carbon advisory board is responsible for revising the principles as the referenced standards change and for continuously improving the principles by folding in newly published standards. The advisory board is also responsible for the carbon emissions inventory and the carbon emission tracking reports that back the issued Net Zero Carbon certificates. Members of the advisory board are appointed each year by the ethics board from 2013 onwards.
