ISO 9001 Quality Management for the Healthcare Sector
How a healthcare organisation obtains ISO 9001 certification
The first step for a healthcare organisation is to demonstrate, through written procedures and active implementation, that every clause of ISO 9001 is reflected in how the facility actually runs. Policies, process descriptions, clinical protocols, and records need to be in place and followed, not just filed.
Once that groundwork is complete, the organisation applies to Sistem Patent Kalite for ISO 9001 certification. Our audit team reviews the documentation, visits the facility, and identifies any gaps that remain between the documented system and the clauses of the standard. The organisation addresses those findings, and the ISO 9001 quality management certificate is then issued by Sistem Patent Kalite.
Support beyond the audit
For ISO 9001 in the healthcare sector, Sistem Patent Kalite also provides related technical services: testing support, inspection coordination, and consultancy on how the standard maps onto clinical and administrative workflows. Our audit and consultancy team has worked with hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centres across Turkiye and is available to answer detailed questions about scope, documentation, and the timing of each audit stage.
What to prepare before the audit
A healthcare organisation ready for its Stage 1 audit typically has a current quality manual, process maps, risk assessments for clinical and non-clinical departments, completed internal audit reports, and a management review record. Evidence of staff training on the quality system is equally important. If any of these are missing at the time of audit, the Stage 1 report will flag them and the Stage 2 audit will be scheduled after corrective action is verified.
