Window and Door Testing, EN 14351-1 CE Marking
The EN 14351-1 standard for CE marking of windows and doors sets out the requirements framework for product standards and performance characteristics covering doors and windows. The standard covers external pedestrian doors without fire or smoke leakage characteristics and windows without resistance requirements. The European standard applies to windows (including roof windows, skylight windows, French windows, and similar).

Out of Scope
Products covered by this European standard are not assessed for structural applications. It also does not apply to windows and pedestrian doors subject to prEN 16034 on resistance to fire and smoke leakage. The separate characteristics and performance requirements for such doors and windows fall under that specific standard.
Essential Characteristics Assessed
EN 14351-1 addresses essential characteristics including resistance to wind load, water tightness, air permeability, thermal transmittance, acoustic insulation, operating forces, mechanical strength, and durability. The manufacturer's declaration must cover each applicable characteristic for the intended end use.
CE Marking Process
For CE marking under EN 14351-1, the manufacturer applies the relevant system of assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP), compiles the technical file, prepares the Declaration of Performance (DoP), and affixes the CE marking.
