Carbon Footprint and Product Life-Cycle Assessment
The carbon footprint assessment approach is based on DIN EN ISO 14040 and 14044:2006. We will carry out your life-cycle assessment (LCA) under these requirements. The assessment follows four phases.
Scope
We work with you to define the goal and scope of the assessment.
Inventory Analysis
For the life-cycle inventory analysis, we collect records of all input and output data associated with the product or service.
Impact Assessment
In the impact assessment phase, additional information such as environmental impact is added to the equation. This forms the basis of the fourth and final phase.
Interpretation
After the assessment phase, results are discussed and summarised. We then provide you with a report of the results. To certify the work, we need to validate the methodology and the result data. This follows a detailed review under DIN EN ISO 14040 and 14044.
Why This Approach Matters
Following ISO 14040/14044 provides a credible, standardised basis for the carbon footprint number you report. Stakeholders and auditors can reproduce your calculation because the inventory method is documented. It also supports later alignment with ISO 14064 (organisational carbon accounting) and ISO 14067 (product carbon footprint).
