Why HALAL Certification Matters

The Importance of HALAL Food

Under modern production conditions, a Muslim consumer cannot determine, without expert support, whether a product is halal. For a reliable judgement, the product must be reviewed by specialists in food, biology, chemistry, and agriculture, and the decision must be made in consultation with religious scholars familiar with the technical matters. For a product to be considered halal, the raw materials alone being halal is not sufficient. The origin of the product, the production or processing stages, and the methods applied must all align with Islamic rulings. All components and all process stages must have been produced in a way compatible with those rulings.

Halal food means food free from questionable ingredients and from forbidden products. The logistics and storage stages, and where necessary the sale stage, require additional attention. During HALAL certification, all stages that affect the halal status of every product in scope are kept under traceable monitoring and continuous control. Sistem Patent Kalite, working as part of our international certification network, covers both raw material and product control with on-site verification, so the certification captures the matters that matter.

Islamic rulings list the main products that are haram and halal. Meat from animals not slaughtered under Islamic rules, flowing blood, pork products, animals slaughtered in the name of anyone other than God, alcohol, and products that are unclean or harmful to health are haram. Trading in products that are haram to consume is also haram.

For people who believe, consuming halal food is one way to show that they are servants of God and that they follow His commands. What people eat and drink also affects their spiritual life, which is why halal eating and drinking matters.

Halal food supports the health of all people. Food hygiene and alignment with Islamic rulings are both factors in food quality. Muslim consumers want their food to be produced and consumed under the conditions set by God and His Messenger, and they want their commerce in food to be halal.

Intoxicating drinks are avoided because they remove a person's awareness. Alcohol is haram. It is harmful to the person, and it is avoided on that basis as well. Halal food should be healthy and produced with healthy inputs. Halal food is healthy food.

God preferred the halal over the forbidden. Pork is listed as a product that must not be consumed, while the meat of cattle, sheep, goats, and camels is halal. Many contemporary health conditions arise from unhealthy food, which is why investigating food is often the first step when illness occurs. The importance of halal food to health is clear. A person looks after their own health first, and avoiding what God has made haram is part of that.
