Turkey's Symposium on Standardization in Commerce and Economic Life

As part of the World Standards Day program, Turkey will host a symposium on 19 October. The event will address the role of standardization in commercial and economic life.

The symposium will be held on 19 October to recognize the importance of standards. Minister Ozlu is expected to attend. During the event, an award will be presented to a project that has achieved notable success in the field of international standardization.

The symposium will examine the role of standardization in commerce and the economy, along with the wider significance of national and international standard-setting and the benefits it brings to business, the role of standards in overcoming technical barriers to trade, and the effect of standards on exports and economic growth. Expert speakers will address these topics. The symposium will also cover the historical development of standardization. The chair of the ISO working group that developed TS ISO/TS 13811 on environmental aspects applicable to accommodation establishments, published internationally and prepared in Turkey, will speak on the direction of international standardization. Participants will also be briefed on technical barriers to trade and the role of standards.

Speakers at the symposium will share views on how the business community engages with standardization, what standards contribute to commercial and economic life, and their effect on economic growth and exports.
