Milk Hygiene Training Provided to Workers
"Hygiene training was given to personnel working at various firms, covering every step from milk handling through to delivery to the consumer."
Training was first held on milk hygiene for workers involved in every step from production through delivery to the consumer, with staff from nearly 30 dairy companies taking part.
In the milk-hygiene training, participants were briefed on personal and milking hygiene, factors that can cause milk to sour, and basic principles of handling milk. Topics covered in the logistics section included the collection and transport of milk, the equipment and products used and their hygiene, sampling, and the actions to be taken when conditions are not met.
Participants received guidance on the minimum hygienic and technical conditions required in milk-collection-area logistics, approval procedures, and record-keeping. At the end of the training, course attendees sat an assessment exam.
The requirement that personnel working in milk collection, storage, and transport hold a Milk Hygiene Certificate will be set by ministerial regulations.
