LEED Green Building Training Delivered to International Standards

LEED Green Building training was delivered in Bagcilar district. As one of the areas where urban development is carried out to high standards, Bagcilar offered LEED Green Building training to local contractors and building technicians. Under the urban renewal program, housing built by contractors working to international standards and the buildings themselves qualify for LEED Green certification.

The two-day program covered air and environmental quality, transport, and energy efficiency as key considerations in the new neighborhoods being built under the urban renewal program. Speakers emphasized that new neighborhoods should be developed in line with international standards.

Green Neighborhoods Through Energy Efficiency

The expert speakers stressed the importance of promoting public transport in new neighborhoods, building sports facilities and green spaces, managing stormwater, using wastewater to irrigate lawns, recycling building materials, generating renewable energy, limiting pollution from buildings, and protecting sensitive land. They noted that contractors and buildings that follow specific ISO standards will be eligible for LEED Green certification.

Neighborhoods Built to International Standards

Speakers stated that urban renewal projects are progressing steadily with strong resident support. Alongside its focus on urban renewal, the district emphasizes international standards. Under the program, environmentally conscious, healthy, and safe buildings are being built. The district continues to transform into new neighborhoods suited to public transport, with generous green space and protected natural surroundings.
