Istanbul Becomes the World's Halal Fair Hub

Under an agreement signed in Morocco between an international fair organization and the Islamic Business Partnership, Istanbul has become the world's only halal fair hub.

Halal food and halal certification have grown steadily in importance, and Turkey has recognized this and led related work. Under the agreement, the Expo Halal Fair held in Turkey will now be the only halal fair officially backed by the Islamic Business Partnership. Around 60 member countries are expected to take part in the organization recognized as the sole halal fair by the Islamic Business Partnership.

At the summit held under the patronage of the Presidency and organized in partnership with the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries and the international fair organization, speakers addressed halal products and the Islamic finance market. Following the successful event, the Chair of the World Halal Summit Council, Ete, traveled to Morocco and signed the agreement.

The third round of the World Halal Summit, scheduled for November 2017, targets participation from around 60 countries. Following the agreement with the Islamic Business Partnership, Istanbul will become a common meeting point for Muslims living in non-Muslim countries. The summit has already reached international scale; with this participation, the fair itself will gain significant momentum, and strong international attendance will strengthen the Islamic Business Partnership in the halal space.
