ISO Certification for Northern Cyprus Public Institutions

Public sector staff in Northern Cyprus received ISO certification training. After ISO 9001 and ISO 10002 training was delivered to public employees across various departments, the 3-month audit phase has begun.

The Deputy Prime Minister's Undersecretary reported that ISO 9001 and ISO 10002 training had been delivered to state institution staff and said the training was a practice that raises quality of life.

Courses aimed at bringing Northern Cyprus public institutions up to EU standards have now concluded. A meeting was held at the end of the course. Speaking at the meeting, the Northern Cyprus representative first noted that ISO 9001 and ISO 10002 training had been delivered and that trainees received training and consultancy services on the subject. Once the training was complete, procedural instructions were drawn up. A 3-month implementation phase would follow. The representative said the implementation must be monitored so that more productive, higher-quality audits can be carried out.

Work Has Begun

It was noted that this is the first time on the island that a customer-centered management system has been put into operation, and the satisfaction of having the new knowledge accepted was expressed.

The Customer Is Always Right

The work focuses on improvement rather than errors. The goal is to carry out an audit aimed at improvement and at adding value. There will be gaps; the goal is to develop the system through knowledge-sharing. Staff will be asked to demonstrate how they ensure customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction will now take on real weight in Northern Cyprus.

We Will Make Management Systems Widespread in Northern Cyprus

The Northern Cyprus representative said: "We will make management systems widespread in Northern Cyprus. Tourism is a major sector here, and hotels in particular have a significant market. Service quality at hotels matters. Because everyone's expectations are different, our goal is to raise service quality. If we raise hotel quality, Cyprus becomes a destination of choice. We plan to include universities in the next phase, and we will raise quality in education as well."

Must Be a Model for All Ministries

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Prime Minister's Undersecretary noted that ISO 9001 and ISO 10002 training had been provided to staff across various branches of the state and said that the training was a form of work that raises quality of life. The Northern Cyprus representative said this should serve as a model for every ministry.
