International Panel on Energy Efficiency in Buildings
Energy efficiency has become a central concern. Improved energy performance delivers real value for a company, lowering its energy costs and reducing consumption. A business that uses energy efficiently also contributes to reducing the depletion of energy resources and helps limit the global impact of energy use, including effects on climate. ISO 50001, the energy management system standard, reflects the weight given to this issue. For that reason, numerous panels and project competitions are held on energy efficiency. The international panel on building energy efficiency held in Ankara is one example.
The international panel on building energy efficiency took place in Ankara. Sessions covered EU policy on energy efficiency, incentives, economic instruments, and the deployment of new technologies.
The panel gave experts from industry, academia, and related organizations an opportunity to learn about the latest academic and industrial progress in the field and to discuss it. Participants were also able to assess the effect of current progress on regulation and policy.
Main Topics of the Symposium
- EPBD implementation
- Legislation and policy
- Awareness and market-driven incentives
- Energy performance calculation methods
- Monitoring building energy performance
- Best practices in the design of energy-efficient buildings
- Voluntary certification schemes based on building energy perspective
- Economic and financial support for energy-saving potential in Turkey
The award ceremony for the energy-efficient building design competition is planned as part of the symposium program.
