Good Agricultural Practices Panel in Elazig

"A panel was held to share information on the Good Agricultural Practices project. The 2017 meeting under the Good Agricultural Practices Expansion and Supervision Project took place in Elazig."
The event was hosted by the Elazig Provincial Directorate of Food, Agriculture, and Livestock, with the Provincial Director and local farmers in attendance.
Speaking at the Good Agricultural Practices panel, the Provincial Director of Food and Agriculture stressed that the work is aimed at minimizing pesticide use. The ministry is carrying out different programs to bring this farming model in Elazig up to where it needs to be. He added that the 2017 programs with allocated budget include greenhouse production in the provincial center, trout farming in Keban, and almond cultivation in Agin. These programs bring a set number of local farmers into Good Agricultural Practices.
The panel underlined the project's goal: sustainable use of natural resources, healthier products for consumers, and conscious use of chemicals to prevent crop loss for producers. Within this framework, the aim is to expand crop production and trout farming in the province under Good Agricultural Practices.
