Cleanroom Standard Revised: ISO 14644-1:2015 Released

Temiz Oda (Cleanrooms) Standardı Revize Edildi

Contamination control is central to manufacturing and R&D activity. In production processes that require a sterile environment, cleanrooms keep pollution and contamination in check. The new version of the cleanroom standard, ISO 14644-1:2015, has now been published.

Cleanrooms are used for control and validation in sectors such as food production, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, and automotive manufacturing. A cleanroom is an environment that controls airborne contaminants at a high level and removes conditions under which products and processes could become contaminated.

ISO's cleanroom standard sets out the practices and procedures required to manage contamination risk.

The first two parts of the series were updated to reflect the latest technological developments and market needs.

ISO 14644-1:2015 covers cleanrooms and controlled environments, Part 1: classification of air cleanliness by particle concentration. ISO 14644-2:2015 covers Part 2: monitoring to provide evidence of cleanroom performance related to air cleanliness by particle concentration. The standards for classification and for ongoing monitoring of cleanroom air have both been updated.
